The Knights of Columbus is a global Catholic fraternal service order founded by Father Michael J. McGivney on March 29, 1882. Membership is limited to practicing Catholic men. It is led by Patrick E. Kelly, the order's 14th Supreme Knight. The organization is named after the Italian explorer Christopher Columbus.

The Knights of Columbus has four founding principles: Charity, Unity, Fraternity, and Patriotism. These principles guide the Order's members in all aspects of their lives, both personal and professional.

The Knights of Columbus is one of the largest Catholic fraternal organizations in the world, with over 2 million members in over 16,000 councils in over 80 countries.
